Carondelet Foothills Surgery Center offers a degree of convenience and simplicity that is unmatched by other choices for your procedure. Your admitting time is short and simple, parking is ample and nearby, no miles of hallways and other confusing barriers to navigate – just a pleasant outpatient environment.

  • We make every attempt to contact you 48 hours prior to surgery. If you have not spoken to a staff member within that timeframe, call the surgery center for specific instructions at 877-5667.
  • Be prepared to sign a consent form giving authorization for surgery. If the patient is under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must accompany the patient and sign the consent form. If you have power of attorney please bring the documents so we may place a copy in the patients file.
  • Bathe or shower, remove all makeup, jewelry and body piercing, and do not use lotions or body oils.
  • Wear loose comfortable clothing. Leave valuables at home. If you wear contact lenses or glasses bring a container to place them in.
  • Bring a government issued picture ID and your insurance card (s).
  • Be prepared to pay for your co-pay, Co-insurance and or deductible.
  • You will receive a patient gown, and a bag to store your clothing.
  • In the Pre-operative area, a registered nurse will review your health history, answer questions and help you prepare.
  • The anesthesiologist assigned to your care will talk with you and answer any questions.
  • Your safety and comfort during the procedure are a high priority.
  • A surgical team which includes a Registered Nurse and Surgical Technologist will be assigned to care for you during your procedure in the operating room.
  • Only two visitors at a time are allowed in the recovery room.
  • It is not unusual to feel sleepy, dizzy or lightheaded for several hours after surgery .
  • The recovery room nurses provide written instructions from your doctor about post-procedure care, which are very important to follow to promote healing and provide the best possible outcome.
  • Plan ahead for a responsible adult to take you home. Even if you take a taxi, you must have another adult with you. There is a chance your procedure may be cancelled if you do not.
  • We highly recommend that you have an adult with you for 24 hours after your surgery.
  • Follow your physicians orders regarding, diet, rest, medications, and activity.
  • Contact your physician directly with questions or problems.
  • A surgery center nurse will contact you within 24-48 hours following your surgery to find out how you are and answer questions.
